Privacy

This page deals with the fate of your data. For my undertakings as a practitioner — secrecy, free will, the limits of the practice and what I refuse to do — see the code of practice, which sets them out in ten articles.

Secrecy first

No information concerning your identity or your life is communicated to anyone, in any case, in any form. Nothing you confide in me is shared, published or quoted. Not even anonymised, not even as an example. This is the first rule of the art, and it predates every law that guarantees it today.

Your data

The information you send through the contact form — your name, email, telephone and message — is used solely to contact you again about your request. It is not passed on, not resold, not used for any other purpose.

The basis for this processing is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and the legitimate interest in replying to a request addressed to me. You may withdraw it at any time.

For how long

A request that leads to no reading is erased at the latest three years after our last exchange. This is the period the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés applies to prospect data, and the count starts again each time you contact me.

If a reading takes place, what is said in it never leaves my computer and at no point passes through this site. The only records I keep longer are accounting documents, invoices and receipts, which French law obliges me to retain for ten years under article L123-22 of the code de commerce. These records carry a name and an amount. They carry no question, no chart and no note from a conversation.

What this site does not do

No cookies. No audience measurement, no Google Analytics or equivalent. No trackers, no social media buttons, no fonts and no images loaded from a third-party server. No consent banner, for the simple reason that there is nothing to consent to.

A page on this site triggers no request to any domain but its own. The only outgoing links are the explicit ones leading to my books at a bookseller.

Where the site is hosted

On Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States.

The host technically receives your IP address and your browser headers, as does any server answering a request, and processes them for security and content delivery. I have access to none of this and make no use of it. As Cloudflare is established in the United States, these technical exchanges rest on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights, and the CNIL

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection regarding your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. Write to me at contact@tetragramme.com or call +33 7 59 900 900. I answer myself, within one month at most.

If my answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, or file a complaint online at cnil.fr. It is your right and I see no reason to pass over it in silence.
